Innovative device for laying and fixing pipes or hoses

Description

A French SME working in plastics has developed and patented an innovative device for laying and fixing pipes or hoses for various circuits (electrical cables, fluids pipes) for both domestic and industrial applications. The SME is now looking for partners abroad to produce and distribute the product under license.

The device developed by a French company consists of a profiled section with a base plate on one side and a reverse side fitted with elastically deformable wings defining in pairs longitudinal troughs with C-shaped cross-section. The base-plate side is meant to be fixed against a wall either by adhesive or more classical (screw) means.
Pipes are then snapped onto the C-shaped wings that act as a fixing device. A finished profiled section with snap-on fixing means on the trough is then longitudinally cleavable to cover one or several laying supports and their associated pipes.
This device is easy to fix, and moreover it provides an interesting alternative to classical fixing systems, which require double fixing: the device onto the wall and the pipe onto the device. Moreover, it has a cover that has both aesthetic and safety functions.

A patent has been applied for but not yet granted: PCT WO 03/063316. The device is already on the market. Some samples have been commercialized but not yet to a large scale.

Innovative Aspects
 The main innovative aspect concerns the C-shaped trough arrangement with variable elasticity and able to fix different types of pipes with different diameters.

 

Main Advantages
 The device offers numerous advantages over existing fixing systems, among which:
ÄIt is polyvalent: it can be used vertically as well as horizontally for pipes or other similar shaped objects (like brooms, etc.)
ÄIt is compatible with any type of pipe materials
ÄIt can be adjusted to any pipe (or similar shape) diameters from 6 to 22 mm thanks to inner rings
ÄIt can be fixed onto a wall by adhesive, Pattex-type glue, screw
ÄIt is made of a plastic material (polyamide or polypropylene) with thermal and electrical isolating properties. It does not decay and can be painted
ÄIt is faster to fix than conventional systems

 

Collaboration

A plastics company manufacturing and distributing products for hardware and plumbers is sought to produce (and possibly distribute) the product under license.
