Innovative, Easy to Produce Diverting System for Grain, Powders or Liquids

Abstract
A local entrepreneur specialized in traditional building construction and renovation has developed and patented an innovative fluid diverting system. Primarily used for rainwater collection, it can also be used as a sampling valve for all liquids, grain and powders. Applications can therefore be found in a wide range of industries such as agrofood, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
The system consists in a concave articulated diverting element (1) inserted in the pipe through a geometrically matching hole (2).
When closed, the element is perfectly parallel to the pipe and leakproof (3).
When open, it diverts the water or any other flowing element out of the pipe (collecting or sampling function) and prevents it from flowing down inside the pipe (valve function) (4).

Main Advantages
ÄThe
plastic element is moulded as one single piece. It is therefore easy and
cheap to manufacture.
ÄIt can be adapted to standard rainwater collecting pipe diameters (if used for collecting rainwater).
ÄThe design ensures water tightness in both open and closed positions.
ÄIt can act as a valve.
Collaboration
A patent application for the system has been filed.The company is looking for a partner in the plastics processing industry to manufacture the system under licence. Ideally, the partner is already producing drain water pipes or fluid transfer pipes and sampling valves.
